Abstract
Alanda tespit edilen taksonların % 35' i tuberli, % 30' u soğanlı, % 21'i rizomlu ve % 14' ü kormludur. In this study, by determining the geophyt plants in and around Balaban Mountain (Balıkesir-Dursnubey), the morphological and ecological features of their species have been studied. At the end, 20 families, 43 genus and 63 taxa have been identified. 7 of them are endemic to Turkey. Asparagaceae (12), Orchidaceae (10) and Iridaceae (9) families are those which have the most taxa and Crocus L. (4), Muscari L. (4) and Ornithogalum L. (3) are those which have the most species in the research area. The composition of the taxa found in the area are; 35 % tuber, 30 % bulb, 21 % rhizome and 14 % corm. In the study, the species has been morphologically identified by making biometric measurements of the plants. In the ecological part of the study, the physical and chemical features of the soil samples taken from the natural environment of the species have been identified. Besides, the threat categories and the types of the factors threatening the species have been underlined. The suggestions for the protection measures against for these threats have also been made.
