dc.description.abstractABSTRACT The aim of this study is to provide a written self- access aid for the students in the English Language Teacher Training Department of Gazi University. After stating the purpose of the study in the introduction chapter, the study stresses the learning theories and some approaches in language learning in the second.chapter. The third chapter explains the characteristics of the students and the learning conditions in the department. The fourth chapter deals with the written language skills and features of written language The fifth chapter gives the definition of a self-access aid and includes the application of the existing material. The conclusion chapter offers some suggestions for the written self-access aid to be more successful. This study has four appendices, the first two provide lists of the grammatical points included in the grammar books available in the departmental library and in the Learnign Resource Center. The third appendix is the questionnaire given to the students of the department. The fourth appendix contains three sample compositions of the students. inen_US
