Abstract
ıı ABSTRACT The floor heating systems, provide a homogeneous temperature distribution inside the rooms, are efficient ones, and therefore become more and more preferable day by day. The origin of these systems is the hypokaust systems used in Antic Rome. But, it is encountered with the primitive ones in Antic Greece. Ât that time, although it was seen in some wealthy houses, the main usage area was the baths. The heating engineering respect of these buildings is not sufficiently analyzed when it is compared with the architectural and archeological respects. In this study, the thermal analysis for the Small Bath in Phaselis which is taken as reference is made. During the analysis, the heat loss from the reconstructed bath is calculated, the mass flow rate of the fuel and gas is determined by making the gas analysis. Then the required design temperature, humidity and the thermal conductivity values are decided, and the convection coefficients for different surfaces are determined. A computer program is prepared based on the finite difference method and, the temperature distrubitions, heat transfer to the bath and the change of chimney's gas temperature are calculated by using this program.
