Abstract
IV ABSTRACT In this study, the results of earthquake which affects structures with different number of floors that have shear-wall structure and spectrum values that are obtained from several types of earthquakes which are also stated in the building code are examined. In the analysis of the buildings with equivalent lateral force method and mode superposition method are used. Spectrum coefficient which is in equivalent lateral force procedure, is found according to `Afet Bölgelerinde Yapılacak Yapılar Hakkında Yönetmelik.` Values that belong to the first degree earthquake region which are defined in building code are considered and calculations are done for four soil kinds which also are defined in building code. For dynamic analysis approach, the computer program `PROBİNA Structural Systems, Three-dimensional Analysis, Design and Drawing Program Version: 8.0` [Appendices-2] which includes mode superposition procedure is considered. Also, for the dynamic analysis module of the program, calculations are made according to acceleration spectrum curves. Acceleration spectrum values that belong to first degree earthquake region which are defined in building code that will be affective from 13 May 1997 are done for four soil types by preparing a simple computer program. Acceleration spectrum curves which belong to earthquakes that have occurred, also, are used. In this study; the analyses of four buildings having 7, 10, 14 and 20 stories with the same floor plans are investigated. At the first step; base shear forces have been calculated according to equivalent lateral force procedure and then base shear force has been found according to acceleration spectrum curves using mode superposition procedure. Therefore; the variation of earthquake forces is found for buildings that have different soil characteristics during the earthquake. Also, bending moment values of the shear-walls twelve story frame structures are found under the different effects of the earthquake whichV have different characteristics and it is given different moment values that take formation according to soil condition and function of acceleration spectrum.
