Francis Bacon`un yeni mantık (new organum) anlayışı

Abstract

Çalışmamızın ana konusu, Aristo'nun ve takipçilerinin savunduğudedüktif metoda karşı olan Francis Bacon'un endüktif metodudur. Bacon,savunduğu endüktif metot ile insanın bakışını, tek tek nesnelere yönelterekbilimsel gelişmelerin ve bilimsel zihniyetin temelini atmıştır. İnsanın öncelikligörevinin, evreni araştırıp anlamak ve böylece evrendeki kanunları ortayaçıkarmak olduğunu belirten Bacon, insanın bu görevi yerine getirebilmesi içinöncelikle zihnindeki idollerden kurtulması gerektiğinin ve deney ve gözlemedeğer vermesinin altını çizmektedir.Evreni anlamayı, evrene egemen olmakla özdeş tutan Bacon, buegemenliğin ilk koşulunun, onu kendi bütünlüğü içinde bilmek ve onu yönetengenel yasaları kavramak olduğunu ifade eder. Bu yasaları kavramanın tek yoluise, zihindeki idolleri temizleyip bilimsel kanunlara varmada acele etmedenuygulanan tümevarım yöntemidir. Bu bağlamda Bacon, deneyin, gözlemin,duyuların, duyu verilerinin ve zihnin önemini her zamankinden daha fazlavurgulayarak özellikle ampirist karakterini bütün düşüncelerine yansıtmıştır.Bacon'un ileri sürdüğü endüktif metot, insanların zihniyetlerini debilimsel zihniyete yönelterek Aristo mantığını kendilerine siper edinen Ortaçağanlayışının, kilisenin, Hıristiyan kutsal değerlerinin ve Hıristiyan din adamınınkarizmasını azaltarak aklın, bireyselliğin, bilimin ve tecrübeciliğin karizmasınıarttırmıştır.Rönesans dönemi özelliklerini yansıtan Bacon, bilimlerin geri kalmasebebini, özellikle Ortaçağ felsefe anlayışına yüklemektedir. Dedüktif metodueleştirip kendi epistemolojisini ortaya koyarak insanların evrene bakış açılarınıdeğiştirmeye çalışmış ve bilim denince akla sadece tabiat-bilim kavramınızihinlere sunmuştur. Böylece Bacon, günümüzdeki bilim ve teknolojininoluşmasının ve gelişmesinin ilk tohumlarını insan zihnine ekmeye çalışmıştır.

The main subject of our work is the Bacon?s inductive methot that objectto deductive methot that Aristo and his followings has defended. With defendinghis inductive method Bacon, directing the view of people to the objects, he laidthe foundation of developings and mentality of scientific. Clarifying that themain duty of the people is to explore and to understand the universe; so to findthe laws, Bacon, for making this duty it is necessary to escape from idols in thementality and to give value of experiment and observation.Equating to understand the universe with to dominant the universe,Bacon expresses that the first condition of this dominance is to know its ownwholeness and to conceive of the general laws. The only way of understandingthese laws is the inductive method including to clear the idols in mentalities andwithout hurrying in arriving to scientific laws. Bacon reflects the importance ofexperiment, observation, sense datum and mental to his whole ideas.By directing the mentality of people to the scientific mentality, inductivemethod has reduced the charisma of religion-man, Christian sacred values,church, middle age mentality. It has increased the charisma of empirism,individualism, mental and science.Bacon reflecting the Renaissance features, has charged the reasons ofundeveloped science with the understanding of middle age philosophy. He hascriticised the deductive method. He has tried to change the view of people forthe universe and he has only presented the concept of nature-science. So Baconhas tried to put the first seed of scientific and technologic developments into themental of man.
