David Hare`in A map of the world ve Knucle adlı oyunlarında siyasal ve toplumsal değer yargılarına bir bakış

Dr. Mehmet TAKKAÇ Bu çalışma, ünlü İngiliz oyun yazarı David Hare' in bireylerin toplum içerisindeki sosyal ve siyasi yaşamlarına, yozlaşan ahlaki değerlerine ve bunun evrensel boyuttaki yansımalarına bakış açısını irdelemektedir. Birinci Bölüm'de oyun yazarının yaşam öyküsüne ve sanatçı kişiliğine değinilmektedir. İkinci Bölüm'de Batı ve Üçüncü Dünya Ülkeleri'nin siyasi ve sosyal ilişkilerinin ele alındığı A Map of the World adlı oyunla, oyun yazarının evrensel konulara karşı duyarlılığı işlenmektedir. Üçüncü Bölüm'de ise kapitalizmin toplum ve birey üzerindeki etkilerinin en çarpıcı şekilde yansıtıldığı Knuckle adlı oyunla yozlaşan toplumsal değerlere değinilmektedir. Sonuç olarak, David Hare'in gerek bireyin sosyal ve siyasi yaşamına gerekse toplumsal ve evrensel konulara vermiş olduğu önemden yola çıkarak kendisinin toplumsal ve evrensel olaylara karşı oldukça duyarlı bir yazar olarak, toplumu bilinçlendirme adına üzerine düşen görevi başarıyla yerine getirdiği söylenebilir.

Dr. Mehmet TAKKAÇ This study is intended to shed some light on David Hare, one of the distinguished Contemporary British playwrights, and explore his views on social and political degeneration on a global scale with particular references to his outstanding works A Map of the World and Knuckle in particular. Although a considerable proportion of the analysis is devoted to moral decadence even in most developed societies of the world, it is also part of the content of this research to demonstrate how concerned the dramatist is about these universal issues. The introductory chapter examines the life story and the personal views of the dramatist and his first hand experiences of all these global issues. The second chapter deals with political and social disrepancies and lack of understanding between the developed world and the undeveloped as represented in A Map of the World. Third Chapter seeks to explore author's concern over the corrupt effect of capitalist values upon individuals as demonstrated in Knuckle. The concluding chapter outlines playwright's sensitivity over these political and social issues.
