Webquest (web macerası) öğretim yönteminin Türkçe dersindeki akademik başarı ve tutuma etkisi

Abstract

Araştırmanın amacı, Web Macerası öğretim yönteminin 6.sınıf öğrencilerinin Türkçe dersi akademik başarı düzeylerinde ve Türkçe dersine yönelik tutumlarında bir etkiye sahip olup olmadığını incelemektir. Araştırmaya 2008-2009 öğretim yılında Erzurum il merkezinde bulunan Şair Nef'i İlköğretim Okulunda öğrenim gören 6-A ve 6-C öğrencileri katılmış, araştırma 20 deney grubunda, 20 kontrol grubunda olmak üzere toplam 40 öğrenci üzerinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu araştırmada betimsel ve deneysel yöntemler yer almaktadır. Betimsel yöntem ile ilköğretim 6. sınıf öğrencilerinin Türkçe dersine yönelik tutumları ve akademik başarı düzeyleri belirlenmiş, ardından deneysel yöntemle ?Web Macerası Öğretim Yönteminin? 6. sınıf öğrencilerinin Türkçe dersine ilişkin akademik başarı düzeylerine ve Türkçe dersine yönelik tutumlarına olan etkisi incelenmiştir.Araştırma ön test- son test kontrol gruplu deneme modelinde tasarlanmıştır. Araştırmada biri deney diğeri kontrol grubu olmak üzere toplam iki grup yer almaktadır. Deney ve kontrol grupları Random (Seçkisiz örnekleme) yöntemiyle belirlenmiştir.Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen ve 6. sınıf öğrencilerinin Türkçe dersi akademik başarı düzeylerini belirlemeyi amaçlayan ?Türkçe Dersi Başarı Testi?, Acat (2000) tarafından geliştirilen öğrencilerin Türkçe dersine yönelik tutumlarını belirlemeyi amaçlayan ?Türkçe Dersine İlişkin Tutum Ölçeği? ve grupların denkleştirilmesinde kullanılan ve araştırmacı tarafından oluşturulan ?Kişisel Bilgi Formu? kullanılmıştır.Araştırmada veriler frekans, yüzdelikler ve t- testi yöntemi kullanılarak analiz edilmiş, bunun için SPSS 16.0 for Windows istatistiksel paket programı kullanılmıştır.Araştırma sonucu elde edilen bulgular doğrultusunda, Web Macerası öğretim yönteminin uygulandığı deney grubu öğrencileri ile kontrol grubu öğrencilerinin Türkçe akademik başarı testi son test puan ortalamaları arasında deney grubu lehine anlamlı fark olduğu görülmüştür. Öğrencilerin son test tutum puanları dikkate alındığında ise deney grubu ve kontrol grubu öğrencilerinin son test tutum puanlarında Web Macerası öğretim yöntemini kullanan öğrenciler lehine anlamlı bir fark olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır.Araştırma sonunda Web Macerası öğretim yönteminin 6. sınıf öğrencilerinin Türkçe dersine ilişkin akademik başarı düzeylerini ve Türkçe dersine yönelik tutumlarını yükseltmede etkili olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

Purpose of the research is to find out whether Webquest teaching method has any effects on the academic achievement and attitudes towards Turkish lesson level of 6th grade students.This research was carried out during 2008-2009 school year with 6th grade students attending Şair Nefi Primary School located in the centre of Erzurum.In this research both descriptive and experimental methods were employed. Attitudes towards Turkish lesson and achievement level of 6th grade students were ascertained via descriptive method then with the help of experimental method effects of the ?Webquest teaching method? were analyzed.The research is designed as experimental method with pre-test post-test control group. The groups ?an experimental and a control - were selected with random selection procedure.In this research ?Turkish Lesson Academic Success Test? developed by the researcher, ?Turkish Lesson Attitude Scale? developed by Acat (2000) and Personal Data Forms as are used as data collection devices. Data in the research were analyzed by using frequency, rates and t test methods with SPSS 16.0 for Windows statistical program.According to the findings of the research it was seen that Students using Webquest teaching method showed higher level of achievement and attitudes towards Turkish lesson.The ?Webquest teaching method? has turned out to be a factor which helps students? achievement levels and attitudes improve at Turkish lesson.
