Abstract
This study aims to present the views of John Toland, who was one of the most important thinkers of Age of Enlightenment, on philosophy of religion. Toland forms Philosophy of Religion by giving prominence to reason, which he considers the main source of information for the Age of Enlightenment, and refuses all kind of facts in Christianity that are against the reason. According to Toland, who has the same opinion about revelation, the concept of revelation cannot be in contradiction with reason. So, he refuses all kinds of facts, which he considers as irrational and he supports that they are not real revelations; they are superstitions which have been added to the religion later. In our study consisting of three main bodies and an evaluation section, the views of John Toland about Philosophy of Religion have been tried to be revealed and evaluated by objective determining. On account of the fact that he is a thinker of Enlightenment Age, background and effects of his ideas are tried to be determined within the context of the main features of enlightenment.
