Abstract
The last holy book sent to humanity, Qur'an has been followed by all its interlo-cutors, whether believers or unbelievers, for the very first moment its revelation started and has drawn attention onto itself with its meaning. Although in Arabic, Qur'an has certain parts that are unintelligible to Arab people. This may be because of the hidden meaning of a word or of a sentence. In this thesis, I have dealt with one of the Qur'anic learnings, the Learning of Gharîbü'l Qur'ân, whichenlightens the unintelligible aspects of our Lofty Book or its aspects that are liable for misunderstanding and with some of the Qur'anic words that are regarded as Gharib. And I have made an effort to carry out this study from the inter-pretations and explanations of the word gharib in the Celaleyn Commentary on the Qur'an, whichis widely read and made to be read both in our country and in the entire Islamic world. I have also given a brief account of the writers of this concise work, Celâleddîn el-Mahallî and Celâleddin es-Süyûtî and of the Celaleyn Commentary on the Qur'an.Key Words: Qur'an, verse, gharîb, weirdness
