Abstract
Population is the total number of people living in a country in a region at a particular time (Akalın, 2011: 1782).The greatest power in history to maintain the stability of a state is the population. (individual) This population is both the producing power and the soldiers who provide the security of the country It is necessary to know the quantity to be aware of the power. So, specific censuses have been made for different purposes throughout the history. This is made to determine the population with land, land working-non working population, tax exemptions and military power. These counts provide us some information about the area.Gevaş is a historical center of life that people prefer to live in due to their climatic conditions and strategic location.
