Abstract
In this study, the weeds of fields in Pasinler plain and itsenvironment has been investigated phytosociologically in 1987.To determine the vegetation of research area, Braun-Blanquet(1964) method has been used. For this purpose, in 100 quadratsof 40 m2 from 100 fields, the degrees of abundance-coverand sociability and the plant associations of these plantshave been determined. The plant associations of the investigated area are as fol`.lows:1. Polygonum convolvulus-Neslia paniculata,2. Centaurea depressa-Vicia alpestris,3. Euphorbia virgata-Vicia canescens,4. Amaranthus retroflexus-Vicia cracca. For the analysis of soil factors which are effective on theformation of the plant associations, the soil samples takenfrom 0-40 cm depths of the selected quadrats have been analyzedfor texture, pH, average percentages of lime, salts andorganic matter. Duncan and variance analysis tests have beenapplied to the results obtained from this analysis. It wasfound that the amount of salt and lime have statistically significantroles on the formation of plant associations. To understand the effect of climate, the average and extremevalues belonging to Pasinler, Horasan and Erzurum climateobservation services have been shown on'. the tables and comparimentalombrotermic diagrams have been drawn. The map of the places in which the associations exist weredrawn with 1/100 000 scale and the distribution of the associationswere shown-by different. signals. The weeds in the research area have been determined in lifeforms as ~herophytes (50 %), Hemicryptophytes (40.8 %) andGeophytes (9.2 %). the plants belonging to Compositae, Leguminosae, Cruciferae,Gramineae and Boraginaceae were more abundant than others. The number species were between 6-30 where 11, 12, 13, 15,16 species containing quadrats were found to he more.In the experimental and technical fields, the number of weedsspecies were less, than the fields where aprinitive cultiva~tion was made.In the first week of April, the plants of the investigatedarea and its environment started to germination, even geophytesflowered in the first week of April and seeded. In addition, some plants which have developed systems have been foundto be green until the second week of August and September.
