248 S Ll M M A R Y At the present research we propose to analize &r< anonymous Spanish book named `Viaje de Turquia` (The Travel of Turkey) belonging to the sixteen century and related to the Ottoman Empire. E<y means of this analysis we want to show different aspects of the Ottoman society from a European perspective in the sixteen century. In general, the unknown european books written in this century concerning to the Ottoman Empire are a new and no explored source for the historians, especially in the social and cultural fields of the Ottoman history. In this manner we can incorporate new informations to this vast field and to obtain a more certain objectivity with the utilisation of european sources. Our purpose is to deliver a point of view more integrated of the Ottoman history. Among the european sources in use we can find five type of sources; official documents, books of travels, scientific works or books, propaganda literature and literary and artistic works. In this research we have used sources of the second and third group. In `The travel of Turkey` we can appreciate all class of information about the social249 structure and traditions of the Ottoman Empire. tn order to complete this analysis we have used the `Petit Traicte de l'Origine des Turcqz` of T. Spandugino, the `Turkish Letters` of 0. G. de Busbecq and the `I Costumi et la Vita de Turchi` of A. Men a vino, as a means and comparative parameter of the `The Travel of Turkey` s information. As a result of this comparative work we have arrived to the following conclusions; At the first time, we have appreciated a multinational structure of an empire that give shelter to different groups. The different language, religion and traditions of this people was not impediment for live inside Ottoman frontiers. The situation is accepted for the European writers of the period, adding to this aspect, the respect of the Ottoman society and authorities toward certain human rights of the immigrants. This respect was an essential mechanism for the working of the Ottoman society. The clearest example in this matter is found in the Ottoman slavery sistem that presents several expeditious ways for the social promotion and attainment of the slave liberty. At second, we have appreciated that the reason of the active interest of the european people concerning to the Turks in the sixteen century, proceeds from the turkish advance in Europe. This event has caused to european researching the Turks, the common enemy of the Europe, specially from the military, historical, social and250 cultural perspectives. At third, we want to emphasise the importance of the turkish language development in the sixteen century. In the comparative phase of this research we have appreciated the importance of this topic, as a phenomenon of paralel developmet with the growth of book of travels and scientific works in Europe.
