Abstract
ABSTRACT Masters Thesis YIELD AND YIELD COMPONENTS OF DWARF AND EARLY SUNFLOWER (HELİANTHUS ANNUUS L) RESİSTANT TO BROOMRAPE Adem AKALIN Ankara University Gcaduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences Department of Agronomy Supervisor : Prof. Dr. Emin EKİZ 199Ş, Page : 48 Jury : Prof. Dr. Emin EKİZ Prof.Dr. Celal ER Prof.Dr.Orhan ARSLAN This research was conducted on the experimental field infected with broomrape seed of the Department of Field Crops Faculty of Agriculture University of Ankara. The aim of this research was to determinate yield and yield components of early and dwarf sunflower resistant to broomrape. In this research Dwarf-I, Dwarf-2, Ekiz-I and control Vnnmk-8931 Variety were used. Fertilization and irrigation were not applied. Seed yields of early and dwarf sunflowers were found low. Maximum seed yield with 217.43 kg/da in Ekiz-I; minimum seed yield with 57.24 kg/da in Vnnmk-8931 Variety were got. Seed yields of Dwarf-I and Dwarf-2 89.86 kg/da, 185.04 kg/da were found respectively. Maximum plant height with 133.51 cm in Ekiz-I; minimum plant height with 88.00 cm in Vnnmk-8931 variety were found. Plant heights in Dwarf-I and Dwarf-2 were obtained as 89.72 cm, 118.15 cm respectively. Maximum head diameter in Ekiz-I as 17.54 cm; minimum head diameter in Vnnmk-8931 variety as 9.84 cm were found. Head diameters of Dwarf-I and Dwarf-2 were got 15.02 cm, 15.64 cm respectively. In our research Ekiz-I and Dwarf-2 sunflowers were found resistant to broomrape. Dwarf-I was effected from broomrape as 9.02 %. Vnnmk-8931 variety was highlyinjured and seed yield of this variety was reduced to 57.24 kg/da.
