The study was carried out with rainfall simulator to determine the differences in splash, percolation and soil losses through runoff as a result of prewetting. Disturbed soil samples were taken from the series of Kule clay loam, Musaoğlu silty loam and Çiftlik loam in the Research and Experimental Farm of Agricultural Faculty, Ankara University and sandy clay loam from Rize. Both prewetted and unprewetted soil samples were subjected to simulated rainfall of the intensity of 60 mm. h`1 during 90 minutes. The amount of runoff, soil losses and splashed material in prewetted samples were more than that of unprewetted samples with the exeption of Kule clay loam sample which has greater amount of runoff than the others in runoff. KEY WORDS: Erosion, aggregate stability.
