dc.description.abstractİNGİLİZCE ABSTRAKT (en fazla 250 sözcük) r In this study, the toxic effects of commercial formulation of endosulfan were investigated on thyroid gland by light and electron microscopy. 4.16 mg/kg of endosulfan (LD 30 dose) were intnaperitoneally injected into mice and its acute effects on thyroid gland were examined. General histologic structure of gland, which is follicular constructed was investigated with light microscopy. Thus, it was observed that some parts of the follicles were üamsg& and some follicles were combined to each other by the effect of endosulfan. The hypertropic appearance of the epithelial celts towards to lumen of a follicle and some cytoplasmic loss of these cells were determined. Damaged nuclei of epithelial cells in tim lumen of follicle were determined. Moreover, colloidal fluid which was diffused from follicle and dispensed into connective tissue was observed. Extremely swelling in endoplasmic reticulum sac of follicle cells, expansion in perinuclear area, disorganised nuclei and accumulation of heterochromatin were determined by electron microscopy studies.
