Abstract
Bu çalışmanın amacı; 6. Sınıf Fen ve Teknoloji dersinde ARCS Motivasyon modelinin öğrencilerin akademik başarılarına ve öğrenmenin kalıcılığına olan etkisini araştırmaktır.Bu çalışmanın örneklemi 2007-2008 Eğitim-Öğretim yılında Milli Eğitim Bakanlığına bağlı Erzurum şehir merkezinde bulunan Mehmetçik ilköğretim okulunda rasgele seçilen 40 kişinin oluşturduğu iki 6.sınıftır. Bu iki sınıftan biri ARCS Öğretim yönteminin kullanıldığı deney grubu, diğeri ise geleneksel öğretimin uygulandığı kontrol grubudur.Çalışmada veri toplama aracı olarak Fen ve Teknoloji Başarı Testi (FTBT) ile Kalıcılık Testi (KT) kullanılmıştır. Araştırmadan elde veriler SPSS paket programında Mann- Whitney U testi kullanılarak değerlendirilmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlar, deney grubundaki öğrencilerin kontrol grubuna göre akademik başarılarının daha yüksek olduğunu göstermiştir. Aynı zamanda deney grubundaki öğrencilerin öğrenmelerinin kalıcılığının daha fazla olduğu görülmüştür. The aim of this study is to search he effect of ARCS Motivation Model to the students? academic career and retention of learning in the 6th grade Science and Technology lesson.The example in this study is forty people who have been selected from a primary school in 2007-2008 academic year that is connected to Mehmetçik primary school MEB in Erzurum city centre. One of the group called experimental group is used by ARCS, and the other group called control group is the are which is give traditional education.In this study Science and Technology Success Test (STST) and Retention Test (RT) are used to collect data. In this study data evaluated as using Mann-Whitney U test in SPSS pocked program. The conclusion of the study show that the students in the experimental group are more successful than the students in the control group. Also experimental groups are more succesuful than control group on the retention test.
