Abstract
'Ru TSA AND LSA LEVELS IN PLASMA AND GASTRIC FLUID IN THE PATIENTS WITH GASTRIC CANCER AND PEPTIC ULC ER SUMMARY This study was performed in General Surgery and Biochemistry' Departments in Erciyes University Medical School. Thirty Gastric cancer patients, 30 Eiuodenal ulcus patients and 30 Kerma patients were included in the study.03 Preoperative plasma and gastric fluid TSA and ISA levels were found higher in the cancer patients than, peptic ulcus and hernia patients CpvG.00'1). In addition, plasma and gastric fluid TSA and LSA levels were higher in peptic ulcus patients than hernia patients (pC 0.001). The postoperative plasma and gastric fluid TSA and LSA levels of the cancer patients were lower than preoperative levels (p< 0.001). The plasma TSA and LSA levels of ulcus patients, and the plasma and gastric fluid TSA and LSA levels of hernia patients were not affected with operation (pX3.05). but, gastric fluid TSA and LSA levels of ulcus patients decresed after operation (p<0.01). Plasma and gastric fluid TSA and LSA levels of cancer patients exposed a parallelism with tumor stages. The differences between each tumor stages values were statistically significant (P<0.001). Key Words: Sialic Acid, Gastric fencer. Duodenal Ulcus.
