Abstract
ÖZET Bu çalışmada dallanmış ve doğrusal polimerlerden hazırlanan polilaktik asit filmlerinin özelliklerine işleme koşullarının etkileri araştırılmıştır. İşleme koşullarına bağlı olarak ortotrombik a (a=10.6, b=6.1 and c=28.8Â) veya ortotrombik p (a=10.31, b=18.21 and c=9.00Â) olmak üzere iki kristal yapısına ulaşılmıştır. Tavlama sırasmda; eğer kristal yapı germe basamağında oluşmuşsa, yapının gevşemesi sonucu p kristallerinin a kristallerinin şekline dönüştüğü gözlenmiştir. Germe basamağında yüksek deformasyon derecelerinde, p kristal formu kararlı kalmış ve a kristal formuna dönüşmemiştir. 11 ABSTRACT In this work, the effects of processing conditions on the properties of the poly(lactic acid) films prepared from branched and linear polymers are studied. Depending on the processing conditions, two crystal structures, namely pseudoorthorhombic a structure (a=10.6, b=6.1 and c=28.8Â) and pseudoorthorhombic p structure (a=10.31, b=18.21 and c=9.00Â) were obtained. The beta structure has melting temperature 10°C below the melting temperature of the a structure, which means that the beta structure is somewhat less stable than the structure. Our results indicate that stretching at rubbery temperatures results in roughly `three stage` structural ordering. Low levels of deformation caused the formation of highly oriented amorphous domains. Intermediate levels of stretching resulted in the appearance of oriented, but distorted `meso` structures. In the later stages, this disordered `meso` structure was converted to three dimensionally ordered crystalline structure. The crystalline phase was found to be in p crystal form where the chain possesses 3i extended helical conformation. It was observed that when the crystalline structure has formed in the stretching stage, the p crystals convert to the a crystalline form due to relaxation at the annealing process. At high deformation levels at the stretching stage, the P crystals remained stable and did not convert to the a crystalline form.
