Abstract
Anahtar Kelimeler: Klorlu pestisitler, UV ve Gama radyasyonu ile bozunma, anyonların etkisi, anorganik tuzların etkisi In this study, the effects of dissolved inorganic salts on the degradation ofchlorinated pesticides with UV light and gamma radiation in the aqueous mediumwere investigated. Degradation products are also as toxic as pesticidesthemselves and permanent in the ecosystem. For this purpose, samples ofstandard chlorinated pesticides were irradiated with UV and Gamma radiation andremaining concentrations of pesticides and their degradation products weredetermined. After aqueous solutions were exposed to radiation, the residues weretaken in to the organic phase with the liquid-liquid extraction technique. Then theconcentrations of pesticides and their degradation products were investigated withthe Gas Chromatography which is equipped with an electron capture detector.Degradation of chlorinated organic pesticides was investigated in the presence ofSO32-, SO42-, Cl- , CO32-, NO2- and NO3- anions. Identification process of thepesticides and their degradation products was done with the GasChromatography-Mass Spectrometry. It was distinguished that dissolved anions are effective on the degradation eventsof organochlorine pesticides and the rate of degradation reactions can beincreased in the presence of some anions in aqueous medium. This knowledgeprovides the appropriate methods to remove the chlorinated pesticides from watersources. Keywords: Chlorinated pesticides, degradation with UV and Gamma radiation, effects of anions, effects of inorganic salts.
