Woodcock-Johnson bilişsel yetenek testleri -R sözcük dağarcığı (oral vocabulary) testinin okul öncesi ve ilkokul çocuklarına uyarlanması

Abstract

ÖZET Araştırmanın amacı Woodcock-Johnson tarafından geliştirilmiş olan Bilişsel Yetenekler Testi-R (1989)'m 13. testi olan Sözcük Dağarcığı (Oral Vocabulary) testinin Türk çocuklarına uyarlamasını gerçekleştirmektir. Bu test İstanbul ili sınırlan içindeki beş ilköğretim okulunda ve bir resmi ana sınıfı ile iki özel okul öncesi eğitim kurumunda 250 deneğe uygulanmıştır. WJ-R COG 'un bir tek zeka puanı vermek yerine, birçok alanda yetenek profili sunması, tanı aracı olması, yaş aralığının (2-90+)geniş olması testin bu alandaki işlevselliğini gösterir. Dile ilişkin olan bu testte test maddeleri iyi İngilizce bilen 5 kişi tarafından Türkçe'ye ve daha sonra ayrı olarak Türkçe'den İngilizce'ye çevrilmiştir. Bu uygulamadan sonra bir Türk dili uzmanı ile sözcüklerin dilimize uygunluğu üzerine çalışılmıştır. Dilimize uygun hale getirilen bu test 50 çocuğa uygulanmıştır. Çocukların, Eş anlamlı sözcükleri kültüre dayalı dilsel farklılıklardan yanıtlayamamasmdan testin bu bölümü daha uzman bir kadro ile yeniden oluşturulmak üzere başka bir çalışmaya bırakılmıştır. Bu nedenle araştırmaya Zıt anlamlı sözcük dağarcığı testi ile devam edilmiştir. Araştırmanın istatistik analizinde; güvenirliğin sınanmasında devamlılık katsayısı için test-tekrar test tekniği ve ölçümün standart hatası hesaplanmıştır. İçtutarlık katsayısı için Cronbach Alfa, Spearman-Brown, Guttman, İki Yan Test, Rulon, Kuder Richardson, Madde Toplam, Madde Bırakma teknikleri ve Madde analizi için testin yaş ve tüm grup için ayırdediciliği ve test maddelerinin güçlük dereceleri saptanmıştır. Testin geçerliğinin sınanmasında; Ölçüt geçerliği için WJ-RCOG Bilişsel Yetenek Testi'nin Sözcük Dağarcığı ile WJ-R COG Bilişsel Yetenek testi olanVocabulary test, the subtest of WJ-R COG cognitive ability test was evaluated. To measure the structural validity, the relationship between test results and ages(5,6,7,8,9,10) were determined. The adaptation of WJ-RCOG Oral Vocabulary test revealet reliable and valid result. ABSTRACT The aim of this study is to adapt the Oral Vocabulary Test A: Synonym and B: Antonyms,the subtest of cognitive ability test to the Turkish children. This test was given to 250 subject studying at 5 different national grade Schools, 1 kindergarten,and 2 preparation classes of kindergardens in Istanbul. The fact that WJ-R COG submits an ability profile in various areas instead of a single IQ score, helps to establish a diagnosis, and the wide age range (2-90-f ) shows the importance of the test in education. To adapt the items of this language related test to Turkish, the items were translated to Turkish by 5 interpreters, and than translated to English again. The proficiency of the items were evaluated by a Turkish literature specialist. This adopted test was applied to 50 children, and then the synonym list was excluded because, the chidren had difficulties answering the guestions due to cultural language differences, and the reorganisation of this part of the test left to another study. The study was done with only B: Antonyms word list test. In order to test the reliability ; the test-re-test technique was used for the coefficient of stability. Cronbach Alfa, Spearman-Brown, Guttman, item total and itemremainder techniques were applied for coefficient of internal consistency and to determine the standart error of the measurement. To test the validity of scaling, the relationship between Vocal Comprehension, General Knowledge, Judgment subtests and the Picture VIIVocabulary test, the subtest of WJ-R COG cognitive ability test was evaluated.
