Abstract
ABSTRACT This research aims to find out the process-product relation at Anatolian High Schools, Turkish Private High Schools and Foreign Private High Schools, from the point of view of English lessons. To evaluate the process covering objectives, content, method, technique, materials, motivation, feedback and correction and programme evaluation as well; questionnaires were administered to the English teachers working at these schools and semi-structured questionnaires to the directors of these schools. To evaluate the product; achievement tests were applied to the students to identify success level among schools. In order to analyze the data, variance analysis was used to determine the differences among the schools. Wherever a significant difference was found for the variables (objectives, content, method, technique, materials, motivation, feedback- correction, evaluation) t-test was used to determine the relation among the schools. Independent ki-kare test was used to determine if the personal characteristics differ according to the type of schools. The results of this research are as foollows according to the order of aims: The first aim of the research was to find out if the importance level of objectives of teaching language among schools was significantly different.
