Abstract
Bu araştırmanın amacı üniversite öğrencilerinin doğa algılarının belirlenmesidir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda öğrenilerin doğanın anlamına, yapısına, işleyişine, önemine ve insan-doğa ilişkisine yönelik düşünceleri, doğaya yönelik duyguları ve doğa deneyimleri incelenmiştir.Araştırma tarama modelindedir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 2010-2011 eğitim-öğretim yılında farklı üniversite ve bölümlerde okuyan 41 (31 kız, 10 erkek) üniversite öğrencisi oluşturmuştur. Veriler yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme yoluyla toplanmış ve nitel içerik analizi ile değerlendirilmiştir.Sonuç olarak, doğa öğrencilerin büyük bir kısmına canlıları çağrıştırmıştır. ?Doğa? olarak görülen yerler arasında orman gibi yeşil alanlar ön plana çıkmıştır. Öğrencilerin çoğunluğu insanı hem doğanın bir parçası hem de ona zarar veren bir unsur olarak algılamaktadır. Dikkat çekici bir bulgu olarak, öğrenciler doğada bir denge olduğunu ve bu dengenin sadece insan etkisiyle bozulacağını düşünmektedir. Doğa, ağırlıklı olarak insana yararı bakımından önemli bulunmuştur. Çalışma grubunda en yaygın olarak tespit edilen doğa deneyimi, eğlenme-dinlenme amaçlı doğa deneyimidir. Bununla uyumlu olarak öğrencilerin çoğunluğu doğaya karşı olumlu duygular hissetmektedir.Anahtar Kelimeler: Doğa, doğa algısı, doğanın yapısı ve işleyişi, insan-doğa ilişkisi, değer yönelimleri, duygular The aim of this study was to determine university students? perceptions of nature. For this purpose, students? opinions on the meaning, structure, functioning and importance of nature and on human-nature relationship; their emotions about nature and their experiences with nature were investigated.The study used survey model. Study group of the study consisted of a total of 41 (31 females, 10 males) university students enrolled in different university and departments in 2010-2011 academic year. Semi-structured interview method was used for data collection. Data was evaluated using qualitative content analysis.In conclusion, nature evoked organisms for the majority of the students. Green areas such as forests came to the fore among the places which are considered as ?nature?. The majority of the students perceived humans both as a part of nature and as a factor harming the nature. It was striking that the students believed that there was a balance in nature and that this balance would only be upset by humans. Nature was mainly found important in terms of its benefits for humans. The most common experience with nature in the study group involved experiences with entertainment-recreation purposes. In parallel to this, the majority of the students developed positive emotions about nature.Key words: Nature, perception of nature, structure and functioning of nature, human-nature relationship, value orientations, emotions
