Abstract
The thesis study was carried out in Karaboğaz Lake, one of the important wetlands of the Kızılırmak Delta, between August 2011 and June 2012. Pesticides entering to the aquatic system were measured in water, sediment, most dominant macrophyta species (Chara vulgaris, Potamogeton pectinatus) and fish (Cyprinus carpio). Multiresidue pesticide analyses were done with QUECHERS extraction method and Gas Chromatography - Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS).In the study on the Karaboğaz Lake, 15 different pesticide species, 1 pesticide metabolite (Malathion-oxon) and 1 synergist (PBO) were detected in water, sediment, 2 macrophyta species and C.carpio samples. From the pesticides detected in Karaboğaz Lake, 12 have insecticidal, 2 have herbicidal and 1 has fungucidal characteristic. The maximum concentrations of pesticides in water is Tebufenozide (mean 0.042 µg/L and total 1.265 µg/L), in sediment is Ethofenprox (mean 91.82 µg/kg and total 2754.7 µg/kg), in macrophyta is C.vulgaris Jasmolin I (mean 530 µg/kg and total 8474 µg/kg), P.pectinatus Cinerin II (mean 410 µg/kg and total 6556 µg/kg) and in C.carpio is Jasmolin II (mean 322.6 µg/kg and total 11972 µg/kg).According to the results, the bioaccumulation factor of pesticides were calculated in macrophyta species and fish. Pesticides with maximum bioaccumulation were shown to be Linuron in C.vulgaris, Jasmolin II in P.pectinatus and C.carpio Jasmolin II. Also, biomagnification of Jasmoin I, Tetramethrin II, Tebufenozide and PBO was observed in the food web.
