Abstract
ŞIRNAK-SİLOPİ YÖRESİNDE DOĞAL OLARAK YETİŞEN LABİATAE FAMİLYASINA AİT BAZI BİTKİLERİN ANTİBAKTERİYAL ETKİLERİNİN ARAŞTIRILMASI Derya OGUZ Selçuk Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü Biyoloji Anabilim Dalı Danışman: Yrd. Doç. Dr. Mehtap AKIN 2004, 46 sayfa Jüri: Prof. Dr. Kemal GÜR Prof. Dr. Yusuf DURAK Yrd. Doç. Dr. Mehtap AKIN Bu araştırmada, Thymbra spicata var. spicata, Cyclotrichium stamineum, Teucrium polium, Salvia russellii ve Mentha Iongifolia var. calliantha bitkilerine ait uçucu yağlar ve etanol ekstraktlan disk difüzyon yöntemi ile Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923, Bacillus cereus ATCC 11778, Escherichia coli ATCC 29998, Salmonella cholerasuis ATCC 14028, Enterococcus faecalis RSKK 97008, Streptococcus mutans NCTC 10449 ve Sarcina lutea ATCC 9341 bakterileri üzerine denenmiştir. T. spicata var. spicata ve C. stamineum uçucu yağlan S. aureus, B. cereus, E. coli ve S. cholerasuis'e karşı, S. russellii ve M. Iongifolia var. calliantha uçucu yağlan S. aureus, B. cereus, E. coli, S. cholerasuis ve E. faecalis'e karşı, T. polium uçucu yağı S. aureus, B. cereus, E. coli ve E. faecalis'c karşı antibakteriyal etki göstermiştir. Araştırma bitkilerine ait uçucu yağ disklerinin ve kontrol antibiyotik disMerinin (Chloramphenicol 30 ug) birlikte yerleştirildiği S. lutea ve S. mutans bakterilerinin petri kaplarında bu bakteriler hiç ürememiştir. Araştırma bitkileri ekstraktlanndan T. spicata var. spicata ekstraktı S. aureus, E. coli, S. mutans ve S. lutea'ya. karşı, C. stamineum, S. russellii ve T. polium ekstraktlan S. mutans' a. karşı, M. Iongifolia var. callianthaekstraktı ise E, co/fye karşı antibakteriyal etki göstermiştir. Bitki uçucu yağları, ekstraktlara oranla daha aktif bulunmuştur. Bu sonuçlar, araştırmaya ait bitki türlerinin gıdaların korunması, tıp ve eczacılık alanlarında kullanılabileceği görüşünü doğrulamaktadır. Prof. Dr. Mehtap AKIN In this research, the essential oils and the ethanol extracts of Thymbra spicata var. spicata, C. stamineum, T. polium, S. russellii and M. longifolia var. calliantha plants were tested against Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923, Bacillus cereus ATCC 1 1778, Escherichia coli ATCC 29998, Salmonella cholerasuis ATCC 14028, Enterococcus faecalis RSKK 97008, Streptococcus mutans NCTC 10449 and Sarcina lutea ATCC 9341, by using the disc diffusion method. The oils of T. spicata var. spicata and C. stamineum were effective on S. aureus, B. cereus, E. coli and S. cholerasuis strains, whereas the oils of S. russellii and M. longifolia var. calliantha were effective on S. aureus, B. cereus, E. coli, S. cholerasuis and E. faecalis strains, on the other hand, the oil of T. polium was effective on S. aureus, B. cereus, E. coli and E. faecalis strains. When the essential oil discs were used together with the control antibiotic discs (Chloramphenicol 30 ug) for the antibacteriological tests, S. lutea and S. mutans bacteria did not show any reproduction performances in their perries. The extract of T. spicata var. spicata was effective on S. aureus, E. coli, S. mutans and S. lutea strains, while the extracts of C. stamineum, S. russellii and T. polium were effective on S. mutans strain and than, the extract of M. longifolia var. calliantha was effective on E. coli strain. The essential oils were found more effective than theextracts. These results confirm the possibility of using these plants in food systems, medicine and pharmacy.
