Abstract
In this master thesis, oil agglomeration experiments were performed on two different waste coal samples. The waste coal samples were obtained from the lavvar plant that was operating in Tunçbilek/Kütahya region. The oil agglomeration experiments of slime as the waste of thickener and of mixture sample that was taken and blended from the different waste pool were carried out separately. In the tests, 3 different oils were used as bridging oil such as kerosene, diesel oil and domestic waste oil. The effects of some parameters such as oil concentration, pH, stirring speed and agglomeration time on the oil agglomeration were investigated. In addition, the effects of the individual and sequential additions of dispersants in the order of sodium silicate and starch on the oil agglomeration were also examined. It was possible to obtain agglomerate with high combustible recovery (CR) from the mixture sample by using the diesel oil as the bridging oil and the sequential addition of dispersants as to be starch+sodium silicate. To acquire of agglomerate from the slime with low ash content can be enabled by using domestic waste oil and the sequential addition of starch+sodium silicate.
