Abstract
Bireylerin yaş ortalaması 53,73±9,2 olup%59,5'i kadın, %77,3'ü evli, %45,5'i ilkokul mezunudur. This study was planned as descriptive - relational type in order to determine therelationship symptoms of diabetes in Type 2 diabetic patients. The sample of the study consisted of 242 diabetic individuals who were randomly selected from individuals who were diagnosed as Type 2 diabetes between the ages of 18-65 who were admitted to Bursa Çekirge State Hospital, diabetes education outpatient clinic. In the collection of dataintroductory information form, Self-management Perception Scale in Diabetes and Diabetes Symptoms Checklist Scale were used. SPSS 20 package program was used to analyze the data. In the analysis of data summarized as number, percentage, mean and standard deviation, Pearson correlation analysis was used to examine the student t test, one-way ANOVA, Tukey and the bilateral relations between the variables. To conduct the present study, ethics committee approval was received, and the permissions from the institution as well as patient consents were obtained. The mean age of the patients was 53,73± 9,2 and 59,5% were female, 77,3% were married and 45,5% were primary school graduates. The mean score of the participants in the Self-management Perception Scale of Diabetes was 23,26 ± 5,49, the mean scores obtained from the Diabetes Symptoms Checklist Scale; 14,8 ± 6,7; 16,3 ± 5,9; 18, 8 ± 7, 67 from the cardiology sub-dimension; 8.59 ± 4.28 from the ophthalmology sub-dimension; 12,7 ± 5,61 from the hypoglycemia sub-dimension, 14,6 ± 4,9 points from the hyperglycemia sub-dimension and 86,0 ± 31,0 in total. The mean score of the Self-Perception Perception Scale in diabetes is; only insulin, physical activity and regular dieters werefound to be significantly higher. According to the recommendation, the mean score of Diabetes Self-Management Perception was found to be significantly higher. The relationship between the self-perception of diabetes and the total score and sub-dimensions of the Diabetes Symptoms Checklist is significant, the relationship is negative and the strength of the relationship is weak in the sub-dimension and total score. While the score of the Self-perception Perception Scale increased in diabetes, the total score of the Diabetes Symptoms Checklist and the scores of the sub-dimensions decreased (p <0.05). As a result; It is important to increase the nursing interventions to increase the self-management of the diabetes patient.
