Abstract
Sultan Selim III has very important position in Turkish classical music. He had not only created the school in Turkish music with his compositions but also supported many composers who emerged in his time. Although he had composed a large number of works, we know 106 of them. 8 of these works had been composed in ?beste? form. In context of this study, we examine his works of ?beste? form in terms of relationship between the pattern and aruz rhythm by rewriting their notes. Further, in this study, these works were annotated and analyzed in terms of distribution of formal features and the pattern.
