Abstract
Within this study in which we examined the effects of political polarization and partisanship levels of voters on objectivity sensation of mass media users in Turkey within the scope of Hostile Media Effect, the role of the socio-psychologic features of voters in their point of view against media, is evaluated.Within the literature research part of the study, The Hostile Media Effect on which we based our study, becomes the subject of a lot of research in watcher effects studies. When the outlines of this term is examined; it is supposed that in crisis periods such as election, natural disasters or other important social events, people's dependency and interest against media englarges, therefore, in the context of their personal opinion, prejudgements, pre-experiences, or their group belongingness, they try to show some specific groups or media organs as hostile, un-reliable. Within the appliance part of the study, the results of the field survey which was conducted on the sample representing all the parts of Turkey, supported the hypothesis revealed by theories. In the study, conducted before the referendum which was held in 16 April 2017 and changed the regime of Turkey, it was determined that voters find the media as unreliable and biassed, among the branches of media (TV, newspapers, social media), the levels of reliability and bias is variant and finally, voters' political preferences and their partisanship levels have effects of this variance.Whereas it is seen that in Turkey the voters' tendency and ideological belongings are reflections of their TV channel preferences, it is tought that the TV channels are editing their broadcasting contents according to these tendencies in the direction of catharsis (abreaction). In terms of understanding the relation between TV and policy in Turkey, and voters' tendencies' effect of this relation, this study brought important results to light
