Zaman ve madde ilişkisi bağlamında deneysel sanat çalışmaları

Abstract

Modernizm özgürlük kavramı ile sanatçılara özgür sanatın kapılarını açmıştır.Sanatçılar duygu ve düşüncelerini, alışılmış kuralların dışına çıkarak vegerçeğin biçimini bozarak yansıtmaya başlamışlardır. Geleneksel malzemeler veyöntemler ile kendilerini ifade etmekte yetersiz kaldıklarında farklı teknikleriaraştıran deneysel sanat çalışmaları yapmışlardır. Dışavurumculuk ile sanatçı, içdünyasını özgürce yansıtma imkanı bulmuş ve bunun için yöntemler aramıştır.Bu çalışma kapsamında, teknik ve anlatımdan kaynaklanan benzer kaygılar ile,?Zaman ve Madde İlişkisi Bağlamında Deneysel Sanat Çalışmaları? ile sıvı veateş gibi kontrolü zor olan maddeler kullanılarak metal ve ahşap üzerindedeneyler yapılmış; bu deneylerin yüzey üzerindeki etkisi ve estetikçözümlemeleri araştırılmıştır. Metalin zaman içerisinde göstermiş olduğudeğişim, eskime, yaşlanma, yok olma gibi kavramların sembolü olarakbenimsenmiştir. Pas lekeleri bu sembolizmin bir parçası olarak öne çıkmaktadır.Su, asit, tuz ve boya gibi malzemelerle metal üzerinde uygulamalar yapılarakproje boyunca düşünsel boyutta zaman olgusu sorgulanmış ve madde üzerindekietkileri izlenmiştir. Eskimeyi hızlandırmak ve aynı oluşumun etkisini yakındanizlemek için, pas ile boya üretilmiş ve bu ?Boya-Pas?, kağıt, taş, cam gibidoğası gereği paslanamayacak maddeler üzerinde de denenmiştir. Bu uygulamasanatçıyı daha özgür kılmış ve zamanı az da olsa kontrol etmesini sağlamıştır.İlk uygulandığında su gibi görünen sıvılar, kısa süre içinde uygulandığı yerlerdefarklı renkte lekeler oluşturmuştur. Pas, resimlere derinlik hissi veren dokusuylaüçüncü boyutu, değişen ve dönüşen yapısı ile de `zaman? kavramınıçağrıştırarak dördüncü boyutu katmıştır.Öte yandan, bu sanat deneyleri ile, alışılagelmiş ?Güzel Sanatlar? terimininiçindeki ?güzel? kelimesine tezat çağrışımlar yaratılmaktadır. Çirkinliğin,kirliliğin ve eskiliğin sembolü olan pas ile yapılan çalışmalar ile, bilinçaltınınsanatsal dışavurumları `güzel?leştirme gücü sorgulanmaktadır.Anahtar Kelimeler: Boyut, Değişim, Pas, Zaman

Manyas Nazlı.Experimental Art Works Within The Scope of Time and Matter Relation,Master of Arts Thesis, Ankara, 2013Modernism opened the doors of liberal art to artists with the concept offreedom. Artists started to reflect their emotions and opinions by escaping thehabitual rules and by deforming the shape of the truth. They have searched fordifferent techniques when traditional materials and methods were not sufficientin their self-expression. With Expressionism, the artist had a chance forreflecting the inner world, thus searched for methods to this end.Within the scope of this work, experiments have been made on metal and woodusing material that is hard to control such as liquid and fire with the?Experimental Art Works within the scope of Time and Matter Relation?, withsimilar anxieties rising from the technique and narrative; the effect of theseexperiments on the surface and aesthetic solutions were researched. The changedisplayed in metal over time has been adopted as the symbol of concepts likechange, wear, aging, extinction. Rust stains shine out as a part of thissymbolism. With applications on metal using materials like water, acid, salt andpaint the time fact in intellectual dimension has been questioned throughout theproject and its effects on the substance has been monitored. To accelerate wearand in order to monitor the effect of the same formation closely, rust and painthas been produced and this ?Paint-Rust? has also been tried on materials likepaper, stone, glass which cannot rust as a result of their nature. This applicationfreed the artist and enabled her to somewhat control time. Liquids that look likewater in first application shortly formed various colored stains in the placesthey were applied to. Rust added the third dimension with its texture givingdepth to the paintings, and the fourth dimension with its changing andtransforming structure, recalling the concept of `time?.On the other hand, with these art experiments, contradictory reflections arecreated to the word ?fine? in the usual ?Fine Arts? term. By using rust in theworks; the symbol of ugliness, dirtiness and oldness, the power of thesubconscious that ?beautifies? the artistic expressions is thus questioned.Key Words: Dimension, Change, Rust, Time
