Öğrencilerin iki değişkenli fonksiyon kavramını anlamalarının apos teorisi ile analizi

Abstract

Bu çalışmada öğrencilerin iki değişkenli fonksiyonları anlamaları APOS teorisi çerçevesinde analiz edilmiştir. Çalışmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden durum çalışması kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu bir devlet üniversitesinin Matematik ve Fen Bilimleri Eğitimi Bölümü, Matematik Öğretmenliği Anabilim Dalı'nda öğrenim gören altı öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Katılımcılar belirlenirken matematik öğretim programında yer alan Analitik Geometri, Analiz I, II, III ve IV derslerini almış ve bu derslerde başarı sağlamış olmalarına dikkat edilmiştir. Araştırmanın verilerini, İki Değişkenli Fonksiyonlar-Kavramsal Anlama Testi ve bu ölçme aracına öğrencilerin verdiği yazılı yanıtlar ile bu sorulara ilişkin yapılan klinik görüşmelerin ses kayıtları oluşturmaktadır. Elde edilen veriler APOS teorisi bağlamında Trigueros ve Martinez-Planell (2007; 2010) tarafından iki değişkenli fonksiyonlara ilişkin yapılan genetik ayrışım kullanılarak, içerik analizi yöntemiyle analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre; öğrenciler iki değişkenli fonksiyonlar ile üç boyutlu uzay kavramını bağdaştıramamaktadır. İki değişkenli fonksiyon kavramını nesne haline getiren öğrenci bulunmamaktadır. Bu sonuçlar ışığında yapılan genetik ayrışımın inceltilmesine ve verilen analiz derslerine ilişkin bazı öneriler sunulmuştur.

In this research, the students' understanding of two variable functions was analyzed within the framework of APOS theory. In the study, the case study of qualitative research methods has been used. The study/research group consists of six students who are studying at the Department of Mathematics and Science Education, Mathematics Education Department of a state university. When participants are determined, it is taken into account that they had taken the courses of Analytical Geometry and Analysis I, II, III and IV in the mathematics curriculum and was successful. The data of the study, Two Variable Functions-Conceptual Comprehension Test and the written answers given by the students through this measurement tool and the voice recordings of the clinical interviews about these questions are constituted. The obtained data has been analyzed with content analysis using genetic decomposition of two variable functions by Trigueros and Martinez-Planell (2007; 2010) in the context of APOS theory.According to the results of the study; students cannot associate two variable functions with three dimensional space concept. There are no students who bring the concept of two variable functions as object.In the light of these results, some suggestions has been presented about the given analysis courses and thinning of the genetic decomposition.
