Abstract
In this study, an experimental investigation has been carried out to study the effects of Stone Powder (SP) on the geotechnical properties of a silty soil. The SP is a type of solid waste material that produced by crushing stone and aggregate. Then it was added to the silty soil by dry weight at the mixture ratio of 10%, 20%, 30%, 40 and 50%. Various tests including Atterberg's limits, compaction test, Unconfined Compressive Strength (UCS), California Bearing Ratio (CBR), and consolidation test have been conducted. The results indicated that consistency limits decreased with SP addition. Also, the maximum dry density increased with replacement 30% of SP, and the optimum moisture content decreased by increasing 50% of SP. In addition, UCS and CBR values increased with 30% of SP then decreased while coefficient of consolidation (cv) increased with SP addition. Inversely, initial void ratio (eo), compression index (cc), and volume compressibility (mv) decreased by increase SP up to 50%.
