Abstract
Jeopolitik ve jeostratejik açıdan önemli olan Kore Yarımadası tarih boyunca saldırılara, savaşlara ve işgallere hedef olmuştur. İkinci Dünya Savaşı öncesinde ve sırasında Japon işgalinde olan yarımada, savaş sonunda Japon askerlerinin teslim alınması bahanesiyle ABD ve SSCB tarafından işgal edilmiştir. İkinci Dünya Savaşı sonrasında uluslararası değişen dengeler sonucunda dünya siyasetinde iki hakim güç olarak ortaya çıkan ABD ve SSCB, Kore'de güç mücadelesine girmişlerdir. Kore yarımadası ABD etkisindeki bölge Güney Kore, SSCB kontrolündeki bölge Kuzey Kore olmak üzere ikiye ayrılmıştır. Kuzey Kore'nin Güney Kore'ye saldırması ile 25 Haziran 1950'de başlayan savaşta, bölgede barışı sağlayabilmek için Birleşmiş Milletler aktif rol üstlenmiştir. Birleşmiş Milletler üyesi olan Türkiye bu savaşa bir tugay asker vererek katılmıştır. İkinci Dünya Savaşı'ndan sonra SSCB'nin tehditlerine maruz kalan Türkiye'nin Kore'ye asker gönderme kararının ülke içinde ve dışında çeşitli yankıları olmuştur. Bir taraftan dünya barışına katkıda bulunmaya çalışırken bir taraftan da ülke güvenliği için NATO'ya girmeye çalışan Türkiye, Kore Savaşı'nda gösterdiği kahramanlıklarla tarihe kazılmış olan ününe ün katmıştır.Anahtar Kelimeler: Kore Savaşı, Türkiye'nin Kore Savaşı'na Katılması, Kore Gazileri, Gaziantep Kore Gazileri. The Korean peninsula which is important for geopolitical and geostrategic points has been the scene of attacks, wars and occupations throughout the history. Before and during the second world war, the peninsula which was under the occupation of Japan, has been occupied by the United States and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics at the end of the war with the excuse of taking back the Japanese soldiers. After The Second World War, United States and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics which were emerged as two dominant power in the world politics as a result of the changing international balances, has started the struggle in Korea. With the attact of North Korea against to South Korea, the war has started on 25 June 1950, The United Nations have undertaken an active role in order to ensure peace in the region. Turkey, a member of the United Nation, participated in this war by a brigade soldier. After The Second World War, the decision of Turkey to send the soldiers to Korea, exposed the threats of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, has several replication inside and outside the country. On the one side, trying to contribute to world peace, on the other side trying to join NATO for security of the country, Turkey has added its own reputation in the history by the heroism which was shown.Key Words: Korean War, Turkey's participation to the Korean War, Korean Veterans, Gaziantep Korean Veterans.
