Abstract
Toplum hayatında suça etki eden birçok faktörden söz edilebilir. Gelir düzeyi veya yoksulluk da suç üzerinde oldukça etkili olan unsurlar başında gelmektedir. Özellikle mala karşı işlenen suçlarda, yoksulluğun suça etkisi çok önemlidir. Birçok çalışmada, yoksulluğun suça doğrudan etki eden faktörlerin başında yer aldığını tespit edilmiştir. Bu çalışmada da; genel olarak yoksulluk ve suç arasındaki ilişki incelenmiştir. Bu kapsamda öncelikle yoksulluk ve suç kavramları ile ilgili literatür taranarak çalışmanın teorik alt yapısı oluşturulmuştur. Sonra 2000-2008 yıllarında Türkiye'deki yoksulluk ile suç arasındaki ilişki TÜİK'ten elde edilen verilerle çerçevesinde analiz edilmiştir. Bu analiz sonucunda yoksulluk ve suç arasında ters bir ilişkinin olduğu görülmüştür. Yani araştırma kapsamında; gelir seviyesi düşük kişilerin daha fazla suç işlediği, gelir seviyesi yüksek kişilerin ise gelir seviyesi düşük kişilere oranla daha az suç işlediği tespit edilmiştir.Anahtar Kelimeler: Yoksulluk, Suç, Yoksulluk çıkmazı, Suç Gelir It can be mentioned many factors that affect crimes in community life. Income level or poverty is one of the most important factors that affect crime. Especially in crimes against property, the effect of poverty on crime is very important. In many studies, it has been determined that poverty is one of the most important factors that have direct impact on crime. In this study, generally it is investigated the relationship between poverty and crime. In this context, the theoretical literature related poverty and crime is searched and it is formed theoretical substructure. It has been analyzed the relationship between poverty and crime using TUIK data in 2000-2008. As a result of this analysis, it is found inverse relationship between poverty and crime. That is, results of this study show that low income people have committed more crime than high income level people.Key Words: Powerty, Crime, Powerty Trap, Proceeds of Crime
