Abstract
Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is one of highly used multiple criteria decision making techniques. AHP provides the transformation of both subjective and objective evaluations to decision support models. AHP evaluates many alternatives over many criteria and find the best alternative as a result of its processes. AHP is very useful in many alternative selection problems. In this thesis, it is studied to determine the importance rating of 11 vehicle types for a production shop of an automotive plant. The selection problem has four hierarchy stages. Goals, criteria, first level sub-criteria and alternatives form the structure of the hierarchy. In the application process, the responsible staff determined the main and sub criteria and compared them to determine the importance rating of these criteria. Finally, for all 11 vehicle types, a normalized and relative rating is calculated by the evaluation of the criteria.
