Abstract
In this study, in order to improve the properties of polypropylene used as bumber raw material in the automotive sector; tensile properties of talc and colemanite hybrid reinforced polypropylene homopolymer (PPH) composites optimized by Taguchi method and artificial neural network (ANN) model developed which allows estimation of these properties. For three different PPH material groups with low, medium and high flow properties, tensile test, differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) and melt flow rate (MFR) experiments were carried out using the Taguchi method with talc / colemanite hybrid the percent ratio by weight and nozzle temprature, rate of injection, mold temptarure of the production parameters. Tensile test results were analyzed by signal / noise (S / G) ratio and analysis of variance (ANOVA) and the experimental parameters giving the best tensile properties were determined. In the study, contribution rates and production parameters required for simultaneous optimization of tensile properties were determined by optimization method of multi-response quality variables. In the scope of the study, a model was developed to estimate the tensile properties using artificial neural networks technology. Parameters of tensile test were input data, each of Young's modulus, stress at yield, strain at yield, stress at break and strain at break properties measured by the test was output data for a different model.ANN models developed in a feed forward, multi layer structure were trained with consultant learning. The learning level of the ANN model was measured by the mean square error method, comparing network outputs and target outputs. Sensitivities of models were determined by control experiments.
