Otizm spektrum bozukluğu olan çocukların ailelerinin karşılaştıkları sorunlar: Edirne örneği

Abstract

Otizm Spektrum Bozukluğu (OSB) tanısı, hem çocuğun hem ailenin yaşamını olumsuz etkilemektedir. OSB tanısının alınmasıyla ebeveynlerin tüm dikkatini çocuğunun eğitim ve tedavisine verip, çocuğun eğitimi ve sağlığı için mücadele eden kişilerle birlikte olması, çocuğun belirtilerinin iyileşmesinde önemli bir etkenlerden biridir. Tanının konulması ile yaşamlarında karşılaşan zorluklar ile mücadele eden aile çocuğun tedavisine odaklanmakta zorlanmaktadır. Bu nedenle bu çocuklara sahip ebeveynlerin çocuklarına tanı konmasıyla karşılaştıkları sorunların çözümüne yönelik destekler önemlidir. Araştırmanın amacı Edirne ilinde ki OSB tanısını almış çocuklara sahip ailelerin yaşamlarında karşılaştıkları sorunların incelenmesidir. Araştırmanın katılımcılarını, Edirne il Milli Eğitim Müdürlüğü'ne bağlı eğitim-rehabilitasyon merkezlerinde eğitim ve tedavi almakta olan otuz öğrenci ile onların ebeveynleri oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma verileri, nitel boyutlu çalışma desenlerinden, durum analizi deseni ile yürütülmüştür. Veriler araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan aile sosyo-ekonomik ve demografik durum tespit formu ve görüşme soruları ile toplanmıştır. Verileri analiz etmede betimsel ve içerik analizi yöntemlerinden yararlanmıştır. Analiz sonucuna göre üç tema oluşturulmuş ve veriler bu tema haline dönüştürülmüştür. Bulgular temalara göre verilmiştir. Çalışmanın sonunda ebeveynlerin çocuklarına OSB tanısının konulması ile hayatlarının değiştiklerini, yaşamlarının her yönünü etkileyen bu durumdan dolayı, toplumun dışlaması, çocuklarının eğitim ve tedavi masraflarını karşılamakta zorlanma, öğretmenlerin olumsuz tutumları, psikolojik olarak kendilerini iyi hissetmeme gibi bir dizi sorunlarla karşılaştıkları ve bu sorunların üstesinden gelmekte zorlandıkları bulunmuştur. Bu zorlukların üstesinden sabırla, görmezden gelerek ve resmi yollarla çözerek gelmeye çalıştıkları görülmüştür. Elde edilen bulgular ilgili literatür doğrultusunda yorumlanmış ve önerilerde bulunmuştur.

The diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) negatively affects both the life of the child and the family. Taking diagnosis of ASD paying attention parents to the education and treatment of the their child and being together them with those who are fighting for the education and health of the child is one of the important factors in improving the symptoms of the child. The family struggling with the difficulties encountered in their lives with the introduction of a diagnosis is having difficulty concentrating on the treatment of the child. For this reason, it is necessary to solve urgently the problems that parents of these children have with the diagnosis of their children.The aim of the research is to examine the problems that families with children who have received ASD recognition in Edirne have encountered in their lives.The participants of the study consist of thirty students and their parents who are receiving training and treatment in the education-rehabilitation centers affiliated to the Directorate of National Education of Edirne.The data of the research was carried out with qualitative dimension study design, situation analysis design. The data were collected by interviews with the family - social economic and demographic status form prepared by the researcher. Descriptive and content analysis methods have been used to analyze data. At the end of the study, it was found out that the parents had to face a series of problems such as social exclusion, difficulty in meeting their children's educational and treatment costs, negative attitudes of the teachers, psychological self-esteem, and difficulty in overcoming these problems because of their parents' It was found.
