Bozcaada` nın sosyo-ekonomik yapısı ve kültürü

Abstract

Bozcaada has been a significant center since the first dates of humanhistory. The significance of the island was increased due to domination ofthe island by Thenes in Mythology, as well as use of the island during theTroy War, which is accepted as one of the most important events of theAntique Age and this resulted in more frequent visits of the travelers to theisland. The island has witnessed many contentions of the huge empires andgovernments due to its strategic importance. Fatih Sultan Mehmet includedBozcaada within the Ottoman lands for security purposes, when conqueredstanbul. After this event an interesting and attractive period was started inBozcaada. Greek and Muslim Turkish culture lived together in Bozcaada,which is accepted as the island of Thenes for someone and a Turkish landafter 1460 for the others. This accompaniment has continued up to dates.Development of Bozcaada with respect to historical, social, economical andcultural aspects since the Mythology is tried to be evaluated in this study.This study has been executed in two stages. Firstly the books and thearticles written about Bozcaada, which exist in very few numbers, have beencollected and later on the other studies including information aboutBozcaada have been gathered. Upon review of this information, relevantcatalogues from Prime Ministry Ottoman archives have been scanned and140 documents (totally 350 pages) have been reviewed.As a result of this study, historical, social, economical and culturalstructure of Bozcaada from the Antique period until 1980's has beenintroduced.

Bozcaada insanlık tarihinin ilk dönemlerinden itibaren önemli birmerkez olmuştur. Mitolojide Tenes?in adaya hakim olması, Antik Çağın enönemli olaylarından biri sayılan Troya savaşı sırasında da kullanılmasıadanın önemini artırmış özellikle gezginlerin adaya daha sık uğramalarınasebep olmuştur. Stratejik önemi sebebiyle büyük imparatorlukların vedevletlerin mücadelesine sahne olmuştur. Fatih Sultan Mehmet stanbul?ualınca boğazların güvenliği için Bozcaada?yı da Osmanlı topraklarına dahiletmiştir. Bu olaydan sonra Bozcaada?da ilginç ve ilginç olduğu kadar dadikkat çekici bir dönem başlamıştır. Kimileri için Tenes?in adası kimileriiçin 1460?dan sonra Türk yurdu olan Bozcaada?da Rum ve Müslüman Türkkültürü birlikte yaşamıştır. Bu birliktelik günümüze kadar sürmüştür. Buçalışmada Bozcaada?nın Mitolojiden itibaren günümüze kadar olan tarihi,sosyal, ekonomik ve kültürel gelişimi incelenmeye çalışılmıştır.Çalışma iki aşamada yürütülmüştür. lk olarak Bozcaada hakkındayazılan, çok az sayıda bulunan kitaplar, makaleler toplanmış sonra daBozcaada hakkında bilgi veren diğer çalışmalar toplanmıştır. Bu verilenincelendikten sonra Başbakanlık Osmanlı Arşivindeki kataloglardangerekli olanlar taranmış, 140 belge (toplam 350 sayfa) incelenmiştir.Çalışma sonucunda Bozcaada?nın Antik dönemden 1980?li yıllarakadar olan tarihi, sosyal, ekonomik ve kültürel yapısı ortaya konulmuştur.
