Abstract
ÖZETTÜRK YE MERMERLER NDEK DO AL RADYONÜKL T ÇER NNVE RADON EMANASYON HIZININ RADYOLOJ K R SK AÇISINDANDE ERLEND R LMESYA AR, ÖzdenDoktora Tezi, Nükleer Bilimler Anabilim DalıTez Danı manı: Doç.Dr. Günseli YaprakKasım 2006, 167 sayfaTürkiye 5 milyar m3'ün üzerinde muhtemel mermer rezervleriyle önemli birdo al ta potansiyeline sahiptir ve 2002 yılı verilerine göre, ülkemiz do al ta ihracatı303 milyon dolar olarak tahmin edilmektedir. Bu do rultuda sunulan çalı mada,Türkiye'de ticari olarak mermer olarak adlandırılan 90 adet farklı do al yapı ta ındado al radyonüklit aktivite konsantrasyonları gama spektrometrik olarak saptanmı tır.Ayrıca, do al yapı ta larının radon emanasyon hızları LR-115 SSNTD kullanılarakölçülmü tür. Bina içi ortamda karasal kaynaklardan alınan etkin doz e de erinin yılda 1mSv'ı a maması istenmektedir (UNSCEAR,1993). Bu do rultuda, Türkiye do al yapıta larının bina yapım ve dekorasyonunda kullanılmasının bina içi ortamda, herhangi birradyolojik risk olu turmayaca ı açıkça görülmektedir.Anahtar Kelimeler: Mermer, granit, do al radyonüklit, radon salınım hızı,radyolojik risk.ABSTRACTTHE NATURAL RADIONUCLIDE CONCENTRATION AND RADONEXHALATION RATE OF TURKISH NATURAL STONESYA AR, ÖzdenPhD Thesis in Nuclear SciencesSupervisor: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Günseli YaprakNovember 2006, 167 pagesThe Turkey has very important natural stones potential with over 5 billion m3marble reserves. According to 2002 giving data the number of Turkish stones export is303 million US Dollars. In this regards, the present study deals with 90 Turkish naturalstones. The studied samples were analyzed and the concentrations in Bq/kg dry weightof radioisotopes were determined by gamma-ray spectrometry using HPGe detector. The radon exhalation rates of natural stones were also measured by using solid statenuclear track dedectors (LR-115 )The radium equivalent activity varied from 183 Bq/kg to 522 Bq/kg for granitesamples and from 1 Bq/kg to 37 Bq/kg for marble samples. The value of radonexhalation rate ranged from 0.003 Bq/m2h-1 to 0.768 Bq/m2 h-1 for granite samplesand from 0.001 Bq/m2 h-1 to 0.02 Bq/m2 h-1 for marble samples. The total absorbeddose rates in air ranged from 22 to 61 nGy h-1 for one quarter utilization of granitesamples. The annual effective dose rates per person indoors were determined to bebetween 108 and 298 µSv y-1 for of for one quarter utilization of the materials.Applying the dose criteria recently recommended by UNSCEAR for buildingmaterials, the natural stones meet the upper dose limit of 1mSvy-1. So, there are notrestrictions for use of any Turkish commercial marble as covering materials, includingTurkish granits. Keywords: Marble, granite, natural radioactivity, radon exhalation rate.
