dc.description.abstract33 SUMMARY In this study, rats with standart penetrating duodenal injury have been studied in two groups. At 16th hour of injury, in group 1 rats duodenal injury has been repaired primarily while in group 2 rats fibrin glue and primary repair have been used. Fibrin glue used in this study prepared autologously. In following 7 days, mortality rates, intraabdominal adhesions at 7th day of study and duodenal bursting pressures studied. Mortality rates were higher in group 1 rats. At seventh day rate of intraabdominal adhesions were significantly low in group 2 and measured duodenal bursting pressures were significantly high in group 2, compared to group 1. As the result of this study, use of autologous fibrin glue as an adjunt to primary repair of penetrating duodenal injury, decreases morbidity and mortality rates and increases duodenal healing.en_US
