dc.description.abstract42 SUMMARY Natural Killer Cell Mediated Cytotoxicity in Acute Viral Hepatitis: In this study, NK cell mediated cytotoxicity in acute viral hepatitis was investigated. In addition, NK cell mediated cytotoxicity was compared with the value of peripheric blood LGL%, ages of patients and SGPT levels which was determined in acute phase of disease. NK cell mediated cytotoxicity was examined by using Natural Anticandidial Index Method which is developed in Gazi University Medical Faculty Immunology Laboratories and depends on the cytotoxic effect of NK cell on Candida yeast cell. In conclusion, it was determined that NK cell mediated cytotoxicity increased in acute viral hepatitis and it was directly proportional with the value of peripheric blood LGL%, but it wasn't related with the patient's SGPT values which was determined in acute phase of disease and it didn't change with patient's ages. These findings are showed that NK cells have an important role in the immunopathogenesis of acute viral hepatitis. Otherwise the value and ratio of the LGL in peripheric blood can give an opinion about NK cell activity.en_US
