Abstract
In the current study, it was shown that polyHEMA, poly(HEMA-co-S) and PolySytrene composites including tungsten (VI) oxide were formed in groups (10% to 50%) by radical polymerization. For this goal, HEMA, Styrene, Hema and sytrene were reacted with AIBN at 70 °C for 0,5 h, 2,5 h, and 2 hours at different solvent to give the consistent polymers respectively. Synthesized polyHEMA, poly(HEMA-co-S) and PolySytrene were defined by FTIR, GPC, XRD ,TG and 1H NMR spectroscopy. These polymers and tungsten (VI)oxide were formed composites between 80-100 °C. The gamma ray attenuation coefficient of composites were calculated using the NaI(Tl) scintiation detector. The theoretical absorption coefficients of the composites were also calculated hypothetically by the XCOM platform, taking into account fundamental analysis of composites. Consistent with the consequences of SEM analysis, were observed homogeneous distribution among tungsten (VI) oxide particles and PHEMA, Poli(HEMA-ko-S), PS. Shielding parameters as the tenth value thickness, the half-value thickness, and the mean free path were calculated. Among the composites studied, the best protective material was observed PHEMA +50% WO3 with lower absorption thicknesses and a higher linear attenuation coefficient. Also, thermal degradation of unirradiated and irradiated polymer composites had been examined.
