Sadece et tüketen sağlıklı bireyler ile karşılaştırıldığında, yeşil sebze ve meyve tüketen sağlıklı bireyler istatistiksel- And there is only statistically significant relationship between the MDA levels of exsmoker patients and the MDA levels of currentsmoker patients. There is no correlation between MDA levels of patients with lung cancer and cholesterol and triglyseride levels (respectively, r=-0.03, r=0.10).
Lipid peroxidation is a chain reaction process that involves the participation of free radical species. Lipid peroxidation has been shown to induce alteration in several cellular functions. Recent reports have suggest that there is a relationship between lipid peroxidation processes and carcinogenesis. We aimed to measure the level of malondialdehyde as an index of lipid peroxidation in cancer patients. In our study, serum malondialdehyde (MDA), cholesterol and triglyserides levels of 42 patients diagnosed as primary lung cancer and 56 healthy subject were measured. The effects of factors such as age, smoking and drinking habits, inherited cancer history, metastasis, dietary habits and dietary fat comsumption on serum MDA levels were evaluated statistically. The average MDA levels of patient group was found as 5.71±1.69 nmol/mL. This increase was statistically significant when compared control group (average 3.18±1.06 nmol/mL) (p<0.05). Our data indicate that there are no apparent associations between serum MDA levels and above factors. Only, healthy subject nourished with green-yellow vegetables and fruits had lower MDA levels compared to healthy subject nourished with meat. And there is only statistically significant relationship between the MDA levels of exsmoker patients and the MDA levels of currentsmoker patients. There is no correlation between MDA levels of patients with lung cancer and cholesterol and triglyseride levels (respectively, r=-0.03, r=0.10).en_US
