dc.description.abstract | S UMMAR Y The success of metal ceramic restorations depends on effective bonding strength between metal and porcelain. The aim of this study was to investigate the bond compatibility between porcelain and titanium which is widely used recently in metal-porcelain restorations, by using three point bending, oxide adherence and thermal expansion tests and to compare the results with those of conventional Cr-Ni alloy and porcelain system. Vita titan porcelain was used in titanium system and Vita VMK 68 porcelain was used in Cr-Ni alloy system. Three point bending test was done as DIN was measured. Later the fracture surfaces between porcelain and metal were macroscopically examined. Although the bond strength values between porcelain and metal of each group demonstrated statistically significant differences, the bending strength of all groups were found to be in the acceptable standard levels. The oxide adherence test which can give an idea of the chemical bonding of the metal porcelain restorations, was applied to titanium and Cr-Ni metal alloys with appropriate oxidation degrees. After an oxide film was formed on the specimens, tensile strength test was applied. Oxide adherence strength values were set, fracture surfaces were examined macroscopically. The results demonstrated that, although oxide adherences, adherence of the formed oxides to the metals were at a desired level. In the thermal expansion test which shows the thermal compatibility of both porcelain systems, dilotometric measurement results of the used materials system showed compressive thermal stress which is in favor of the bonding of the system and the Cr-Ni porcelain system showed tensile thermal stress which is not in favor of the bonding of the system. Proposed thermal compatibility was not seen in both of the metal-porcelain systems.-68- Her iki metal porselen sisteminin ısısal uyumluluğunun tespit edildiği ısısal genleşme testinde ise, kullanılan materyallerin dilatometrik ölçüm sonuçları belirlenmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda, titanyum metali ve porselen sisteminde bağlantının lehine olan baskı şeklinde, Cr-Ni içerikli metal alaşımı porselen sisteminde ise bağlantının aleyhine olan çekme gerilimleri oluşmuştun Her iki metal porselen sisteminde de önerilen ısısal uyum saptanamamıştır. | |
