dc.description.abstract-63- SUMMARY In this study, the impact strength and the tensile stress of the polymethylmetacrylate strengthened with Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene Fibers (UHMWPE) was compared. For this purpose, polymethylmetacrylate polimerized with heat and Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene Fibers (UHMWPE) were widely used. Impact strength test was done by using Hounsfield tensometer, tensile stress test was done by Instron Tensile Tensile Machine adjusted for 5mm/min.. There after datas for impact srength and tensile stress were statistically evaluated. 1mm. slices of arised broken surfaces were examined under SEM by covering them with gold and magnifications between x100 and x2000 were photographed. In the examinations done with SEM there was no adhesion found between polyethylene fiber-acryl matrix. Statistically significant differences were found when the impact strength datas were compared with control group and the increase in the fiber ratios increased the impact strength. However there was a decrease for the values of tensile strength.-62- Çarpma dayanıklılık verileri kontrol grubu ile kıyaslandığında istatistiksel açıdan anlamlı farklılıklar bulunmuş ve fiber oranındaki artışın çarpmaya karşı olan dayanıklılığı arttırdığı tespit edilmiştir. Bunun yanında ise çekme gerilim dayanıklılığı verilerinde bir azalma olduğu görülmüştür.
