Abstract
İNGİLİZCE ABSTRACT (en fazla 250 sözcük) Tie Customs Union is one of the most significant steps Turkey has made in recent times. In the period starting from January 1, 1996, the Customs Union has started to make itself felt, though to a certain extent, in a number of sectors of the national economy. Considering the fact that the Press is a sector whose important has been increasing more and more within the Turkish economy, `The Structure of The Turkish Press Sector After The Customs Union` was selected as the topic of this study. The structure of the Turkish economy in the period between the declaration agreement has been dealt with in particular. The reason for that was to account for the changes which have occured after the Customs Union in a more explicit manner and the expose what kind of structural stages the Turkish economy had passed through priot to the Customs Union. Moreover, in an attempt to establish the progress the press exhibited in the period between the republic ant the Customs Union, the economic structure of the press sector within the historical development process was investigated. In addition, the changes and the improvements in the economic structure of the press sector were supported by means of numerical data before being presented. In accordance with all these, so as to determine what kind of improvements were experienced in application, prominent high-level administrators from the press were interviewed and information related to the application process gathered. The study was completed with a `Conclusion` section in which the oratical as well as pratical information was compiled and interpreted.
