Abstract
ÖZET Bu çalışmada 28 hipertiroidi tanısı konulan hasta ile 25 sağlıklı gönüllüden oluşan kontrol grubunda, serum lipid peroksit ve E vitamini düzeyleri ölçüldü. Serumda lipid peroksit düzeyi Ohkawa'nm modifıye yöntemi ile Ölçüldü. E vitamini miktarı Hashim'in yöntemi ile belirlendi. Kontrol grubunda ortalama değerler; lipid peroksit 2.25±0.04 nmol.MDA/ml, vitamin E 1.39±0.03 mg/dl hipertiroidili hasta grubunda; lipid peroksit 2.81±0.05 nmol.MDA/ml, vitamin E 1.03±0.09 mg/dl olarak bulunmuştur. Anahtar Kelimeler :Hipertiroidizm, Vitamin E, Lipid Peroksidasyon SUMMARY In this study, we measured the serum levels of lipid peroxide and Vitamin E in 28 patients which diagnosed as having hyperthyroidism and in control group which was formed from 25 volunteer individualts. Serum levels of lipid peroxide measured by modified method of Ohkavva and the amount of Vitamin E is determined by Hashim's method. The mean values in control group: lipid peroxide was 2.25±0.04 nmol.MDA/ml, vitamin E was 1.39±0.03 mg/dl and in patients with hyperthyroidism; lipid peroxide was 2.81±0.05 nmol.MDA/ml Vitamin E was 1.03±0.09mg/ml. The statistical analysis of this study showed that serum levels of lipid peroxide was significantly higher (p<0.001) in hypertyroid group than in control group, whereas Vitamin E levels was significantly lower (p<0.01) in hypertyroid group than in control group. When compared to control group in this study we observed that vitamin E levels decreased while the rate of lipid peroxidation was increasing. Key words: Hyperthyroidism, Vitamin E, Lipid Peroxidation.
