Abstract
In this thesis, a clinical chemistry instrument has beenrealized, to quantitate substrate concentrations, and enzymeactivities in human blood. The photometric technique senses colorchanges in the sample solution proportionally to the concentration. The prototype photometer is designed as a monochromatic instrumentat a fixed wavelength of 492 nm, with the bandwidth limited to10 nm, by means of interference filters. In order to evaluate the prototype device for accuracyand sensitivity, the results are compared with those obtainedfrom the commercial ones, and found to be in good agreement, interms of accuracy and sensitivity.
