Ergonomics and safety in dentistry

Abstract

Ergonomics and safety are important factors to be considered inengineering applications. Because of their complex nature, however thesefactors are not adequately known in dental applications and therefore notfollowed by dentists and dental equipment manufacturers. Exact ergonomicalapplications will ease the job of the dentist. On safety side; sterilization,mercury contamination and radiation comes first to mind. Other subjects arenot enough known. Standards are tied to ergonomics and safety. The rightapplications of standards will improve the quality of dentistry in Turkey.
