Geophsical data acquisition software in time domain

Abstract

With the amazingly rapid development in computer andsoftware industry, miscellaneous software packages arebeing prepared for more wanted areas. These softwarepackages were generally written for needs of the standardusers, so these programs can also be used for specialpurposes. On the other hand, due to the these writtenprograms for standard needs, some details of the jobs cannot be done entirely. Consequently, for a complete successof computer automation, specially prepared programs haveto brought in to use.Mdetect data acquisition package has very importantrole in seismic signal detection. But it needs someimprovements for requirements of the Kandilli Observatoryand Earthquake Research Institute (KOERI). Originalsoftware does not support some cards, which exist inKOERI. There were need of definable number of recording orshown channels. There was need of making later requiredupdates to the software. Therefore, in my thesis, Mdetectsoftware package amended, and developed for making moresuitable usage in KOERI. Revised Mdetect software programcan be used for event detection by using any AID card thatis available in Turkey.
