Quality control circle applications in Turkey

Abstract

TÜRKİYE'DE KALİTE ÇEMBERLERİ UYGULAMALARI ÖZET Bu araştırmanın amacı Türk sanayii sektöründe gitgide hızlanarak yayılan Kalite Çemberleri uygulamalarının uygulanış tarzlarını, uygulama nedenlerini ve hem işletmeye hem de katılımcılara sağladığı yararları değerlendirmek, uygulama sorunlarını ve bunların kaynaklarını belirlemek, ve başarılı bir çalışmanın önkoşullarını tespit etmektir. Araştırma kapsamında Kalite Çemberleri çalışmalarında deneyim sahibi sekiz kuruluş ve bunlara bağlı. 30 'u yönetici olmak üze,re toplam 114 Kalite Çemberi üyesi bulunmaktadır..Ayrıca konu ile ilgili olarak özel danışmanların, araştırmacıların ve üst düzey yetkililerin görüşleri de değerlendirilmeye katılmıştır. Sonuç olarak. Kalite Çemberlerinin, uygulamada ortaya çıkan tüm aksaklıklara rağmen, hem şirket açısından hem de bireysel katılımcılar açısından çok çeşitli yararlar sağlayabileceği ve çalışma ortamını hem daha verimli hem de daha insancıl yönde geliştirebileceği görüşüne varılmıştır. QUALITY CONTROL CIRCLE APPLICATIONS IS TURKEY ABSTRACT This study aims to provide an overview about the application of Quality Control Circles, which are getting more and more popular in the Turkish industry. Examined are their implementation reasons; the principles of the approach; and the benefits which the concept is providing for the company and the individual circle participant. Problems encountered throughout the application of QCC f s are specified and their causes investigated. Benefits of the application are recog nized and the balance between company benefits and individual benefits is explored. Additionally some guide-lines for a successful implementation are -worked out. The. research has been conducted with eight major Turkish com panies having experienced QCC practice. Eighty-four circle members. 30 involved managers and several consultants, academicians and high level managers have been included into the research. The outcome of the study implies that in spite of many problems evolving ^n the application process. Quality Control Circle activities may provide several benefits for both the company and the individual participant and also contribute to a more productive and human work environment. 5V
